TILT and Tavistock
I founded TILT in 2014 to promote systems psychodynamics and group relations work in South Africa. The Tavistock Institute of Human Relations was founded in 1947 and has ever since pioneered this work. I learn from and collaborate with the Tavistock Institute on a variety of projects, including consultancy, training and Group Relations Conferences.
My approach
My approach stems from viewing organisations as complex, imperfect systems with both conscious and unconscious dimensions. My colleagues and I take the organisation's primary task and strategic objectives as departure point and we measure our success in terms of the organisation's increased effectiveness and performance.
Executive coaching
I provide executive coaching to business leaders who are keen to explore and improve the way they are impacting their teams and organisations.
Leadership development
I develop bespoke leadership development programmes for executive and middle management leaders. These usually comprise of a combination of didactic, experiential and practical sessions. For my new transformational middle management programme, The Hidden Dynamics of High-Impact Leadership, click here.
Organisational consultation
To companies that want to:
Training and supervision
I run training groups and provide professional supervision to other consultants and coaches who wish to deepen and expand their ability to work with the unconscious dynamics affecting the organisations and leaders they work with. To learn about and enrol for the 2025 training groups, click here.
Speaking about adventure
I share stories about some of the things I've learnt during my adventures. During my recent motorcycle journey through Africa, I have contemplated many things regarding myself, life, cultures, tenacity and leadership. To read my 80-day blog on this trip, click here.
Academic work
I am an associate editor for the journal Organisational and Social Dynamics. I also teach on masters level, supervise and examine masters and doctoral theses for the Universities of Pretoria and South Africa (UP and UNISA).
